Criteria Adopted and Process of Admission

Admissions to the UG courses in faculty of Arts and Commerce are granted on the basis of criteria of minimum eligibility and interview of the applicant. Admission committee, after careful screening of the documents submitted by the applicants and their interview marks, recommends for admission, if found eligible, as per the admission rules prescribed by the admission committee of the affiliating University. In the faculty of Science at UG level and PG programmes in faculty of Arts and Commerce, admissions are granted on the basis of merit. Admission to B.ED. is granted on the basis of Common Entrance Test and counselling conducted by the affiliating University. In all the Vocational courses admissions are granted on the basis of merit.

Minimum and maximum percentage of marks for admission at entry level for each of the programmes offered by the college is decided by the admission committee of the affiliating University which is as follows:

Minimum 40% marks in XII standard.

B.Com.

Minimum 40% marks in XII standard in Commerce stream.
Minimum 45% marks in XII standard in other than Commerce stream.

B.Sc.

Minimum 45% marks in XII standard in Science stream.

B.B.A.

Intermediate passed.

B.Ed.

Minimum 50% marks at graduate level.

M.A.

Minimum 45% marks at Graduate level.

M.Com.

Minimum 45% marks at Graduate level in Commerce Stream and selection on the basis of merit.

Students from SC/ST/OBC Community:

Students belonging to SC/ST/OBC community are allotted seats in various programmes as per the reservation policy of the State Government. Relaxation in minimum eligibility criteria is also provided to Scheduled Cast students to increase their access to higher education. Various kinds of scholarship  are provided to the students belonging to these categories. As per the latest G.O. no. 1144/Personal-2-2011-53(1)/2001, dated 18th July, 2001, of the State Government reservation quota in each programme offered by the college is as follows:

  • SC - 19%,
  • ST - 04%,
  • OBC - 14%

Reservation policy of the State Government is strictly followed by the college.

Apart from this Woman, Ex-defence personal and differently-abled candidates are provided reservation in horizontal basis as per following details:

  • Women – 20%
  • Ex-defence personal – 02%
  • Differently-abled person – 03%
  • Dependent of Freedom fighters – 02%

Due weightage is given in the merit to NSS volunteers, NCC Cadets, and Sports persons for admission to various courses.
