HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
English is one of the subjects with which the foundation of the college was laid down in 1974. Post graduation in English started in 2002. From very beginning department of English has faculties like Dr. H.S. Saxena and Dr. Seema Bhatnagar. Dr. Bhatnagar was well-known grammarian and feminist of her time.

Prof. Sharmila Saxena – “Thomson’s Treatment of Nature: A Critical Evaluation”
Thomson’s poetry is always evaluated as description of nature but people fail to locate the spiritual element in crude form in it, in that way he is harbinger of not only nature poetry but of the spiritual element in Romantic literature especially and in the literature of succeeding generations in general as well.
Dr. Manoj Kumar Pandey- “The Man-Woman Relationship in the Plays of Girish Karnad”
This was first few research work on the plays of Girish Karnad in India and world-over which contributed in analysis of Karnad as a playwright. The thesis with interview of B.V. Karanth as one of the main academic milestones works in bringing theatre and dramatic literature closure.
Dr Disha Vishwakarma – “A Philosophical Study in the Fiction of William Golding”
An attempt is made to show that Golding’s writing is amalgamation of his moral belief ‘Original Sin’ of good and evil. This thesis attempts to illustrate the philosophical theories manifested by characters and events. And the rapidly changing psychological set up of modern age due to economic recession and devastating use of technology in wars.
